Axis: EPG
Project completed
In house, Massive Interactive.
Outcomes
Unknown. Project halted during UI Design as the company was purchased by deltatre whom closed the Sydney branch.
My planned next steps were to demo this to existing clients to get their feedback on the vertical format.
I then would like to have performed eye tracking on a high fidelity prototype. I had low confidence this format would test well. I felt users would take too long to scan significant amounts of content and potentially not understand how many channels were available.
I hoped data would validate this and the business would see the value in iterating the design further.
Role
UX & UI
An EPG (Electronic Program Guide) helps users browse channels and content, making discovery easier and more informed.
AXIS, a syndicated OTT platform, lacked this essential feature. With the product designer occupied on other roadmap priorities, I stepped in aiming to advance this initiative to ‘Ready for Development’ status. I was briefed to simplify an existing design while suggesting UX improvements that would turn it into a scalable product feature.
PRODUCT GOALS
Avoid royalty payments attached to the horizontal EPG format;
Be able to demo EPG to new and existing clients.
UX GOALS
Clearly show the user what is airing and what is coming up;
Validate the amount of metadata shown to users between devices.
